LANSING – Sen. Ken Horn, R-Frankenmuth, on Friday announced the committees he will serve on for the 2015-2016 legislative term in the Michigan Senate.
Horn will chair the Senate Economic Development and International Investment Committee, which will concentrate on fostering economic growth in Saginaw and Genesee counties and the entire state of Michigan. The committee will also focus on growing export opportunities for Michigan products and diversifying the workforce through skilled trades development.
“With a background in business, I’m excited to work directly with my colleagues to continue to restore Michigan’s economy and get people back to work,” said Horn. “Michigan has so much to offer from agriculture to manufacturing; part of our job is to turn the eyes of the world this way and let Michigan businesses and their highly skilled workers do the rest.”
In addition to chairing the Economic Development and International Investment Committee, Horn will also be serving as vice chair of Transportation and as a member of the Energy & Technology and Insurance committees.
From the 32nd Senate District, Horn represents all of Saginaw County. In addition, in Genesee County he represents the cities of Flushing, Linden and Montrose and the townships of Argentine, Clayton, Fenton, Flushing, Gaines and Montrose.
