LANSING, Mich. — State Sen. Ken Horn, R-Frankenmuth, announced Friday that he and his wife are offering a $500 reward for information leading to the individual who is believed to have thrown a dog, now nicknamed “Lucky,” from a vehicle in Frankenmuth Township.

“Anyone who knows Veronica and me is aware of our love for dogs,” Horn said. “This is absolutely inhumane and I would like to see that the individual or individuals who did this pay for what they’ve done.”

The Humane Society of the United States is also offering a reward of $5,000.

Horn is encouraging anyone who has information on the individual or individuals involved to contact 911 or the Saginaw County Animal Care Center at 989-797-4500.

Senate Bills 28 and 29 are currently before the Legislature and will increase penalties for those who commit harm to animals,” Horn said. “I hope the increased penalties will be a deterrent to this kind of behavior.”
