Horn stands with Whitmer vetoes in wake of coronavirus threat

LANSING, Mich. — State Sen. Ken Horn, R-Frankenmuth, issued the following statement on Monday regarding Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s supplemental funding vetoes:

“We need to dedicate all of the resources we have available to winning the invisible battle that’s in front of us — and that includes reprioritizing some previously funded programs.

“I look forward to leading the Senate Economic and Small Business Development Committee’s work to put Michigan’s economy back in the saddle when the time comes. I’ll work with my colleagues and the administration to restore Pure Michigan, the Going Pro Talent Fund, Michigan Reconnect and other important programs.

“As soon as we are able to get back at it, the Legislature will return our focus to growing Michigan’s workforce and getting more Michiganders back to work. Until then, we need to shift our focus to ensuring our health care professionals and researchers have the resources they need to help combat this pandemic.”
